Hollywood, CA-based post house SSI Advanced Post Services has purchased da Vinci Systems’ Resolve RT digital mastering suite for Digital Intermediate (DI) work on film, digital cinema and theatrical trailers.
With its new Resolve suite, SSI will take full advantage of the increased flexibility and efficiency of a nonlinear workflow and file-based image enhancement. SSI selected the Resolve system for its maximum accuracy and dependability in meeting the severe time constraints that accompany post-production work on movie trailers.
The familiar interface, flexibility and power of the Resolve system eased the company's transition into DI color correction work, which it previously did not offer.
At SSI, Resolve enables direct connection to an SGI SAN for image browsing and real-time data access, allowing multiple colorists to access the same material in any order, at any given time.
