South Carolina Educational Television has tapped Harris Corp.'s Broadcast Communication Division to supply it with digital encoding systems. Harris' FlexiCoder MPEG-2 Encoding System will be deployed at the 11 stations of SCET's network.
The FlexiCoder uses a modular architecture and provides a range of video combinations from single-channel SD or HD to a redundant HD/multichannel SD system. Two space-saving enclosures are available. The system also provides cost-effective add-ons for expansion using plug-in modules for services like integrated master control, PSIP/PSI management and datacasting.
