Sony has introduced a software upgrade for its MVS series of multiformat production switchers.
The new version 7.20 software allows the MVS-8000G and MVE-8000A to support full 1080/60P and 1080/50P production with dual-link input/output, dual M/E link and dual DME CH link capability with an optional software license.
The version 7.20 software also delivers a range of new functionality. A second frame memory board allows clips to be recorded at about 2000 HD frames, without ancillary data. When recorded with ancillary data, about 1700 HD frames can be recorded.
The clip transition feature can be used to adjust the timing between background and graphics transitions.
