The HDW-730S's minimum illumination of 0.31 lux (and 0.0003 lux when using the optional HKDW-705 Slow Shutter board).
Sony's new HDW-730S HDCAM camcorder is designed for HD program producers and videographers looking to migrate to high-definition.
The HDW-730S is a 3-CCD camcorder with 1000 TV lines of horizontal resolution, a signal-to-noise ratio of 54dB, and a smear level of -125dB. The camcorder's minimum illumination of 0.31 lux (and 0.0003 lux when using the optional HKDW-705 Slow Shutter board) is a significant benefit for producers capturing footage in often less-than-ideal lighting conditions.
Other benefits for ENG work include 60i/50i switchable operation, NTSC/PAL compatibility with an SDI output and assignable switches.
