The MFS-2000 has a graphical user interface with an integrated touch-screen display, full “look ahead” preview capabilities, parallel tally and redundant power supplies.
Designed for the small broadcast, corporate and educational markets, Sony Electronics has introduced the MFS-2000, an HD capable video switcher with digital multi effects (DME) that leverages certain features of Sony’s MVS-8000/DVS-9000 production switcher line.
The new multiformat switcher is ideal for sports and entertainment venue managers who are migrating to HD and looking for a full-featured switcher to maintain the production values they have previously enjoyed in the SD domain.
It is available with 1 or 1.5 MES. Three control panels for the MFS-2000 are offered to provide additional flexibility and scalability. The processor is packaged in a compact 3 RU frame and features preset pattern effects with a variety of pattern modifiers for easy operation.
Options include a two-channel plug-in DME, with nonlinear effects and RGB color correction, which eliminate the need for an external DVE. A graphical user interface with an integrated touch-screen display, full “look ahead” preview capabilities, parallel tally and redundant power supplies make the MFS-2000 well suited for live operation, as well as editing and other studio production applications.
Sony said the new switcher will be delivered in the U.S. early next year.
