SMPTE seeks new executive director

The Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers (SMPTE) is looking for its next executive director and has appointed a search committee to identify potential candidates. It expects to complete its search by the end of the year.

Former SMPTE executive director Kimberly Maki concluded a three-year term of service to take a senior executive position with Bright House Networks, the seventh largest multiple cable system operator (MSO) in the United States with 2.4 million customers in several large cities. She’s now responsible for directing the company’s strategic communications at all levels of the organization, and leading a team of communications professionals throughout the company’s six divisions.

SMPTE’s Annual Tech Conference and Expo will be held Oct. 27-29, at the Hollywood Renaissance Hotel in Hollywood, CA. To register for the event, visit www.smpte2009.org/.
