SK Telecom to deliver full-length Hollywood hits to mobile devices

South Korea’s SK Telecom has signed a deal with Sony Pictures Entertainment to bring more than 200 full-length movies to subscriber’s mobile phones, “The Korea Times” reported late last month.

According to the terms of the contract, the deal extends through four years and entails Sony Pictures Television International delivering 50-60 old and new movie titles each year to SK Telecom subscribers in South Korea. The offering is one of the first of its kind in the world and involves streaming full-length feature films over a mobile device. SK Telecom had already been offering Korean movies on mobile phones, but this is the first time the company will be delivering Hollywood fare.
