SGL and Blue Order team for Corinthian Television

UK-based Software Generation (SGL) has entered into an agreement with DAM solutions provider Blue Order to integrate FlashNet with Blue Order's Media Archive Enterprise media management platform for Corinthian Television's (CTV) digital upgrade project.

FlashNet is data management software that provides the link between video stored as files on a video server and the tape library and serves as the long-term repository. It allows the user to move material from the server to the archive either manually or under the control of a video application. FlashNet then tracks all of the video assets by a user or application assigned file name for easy management and retrieval. It fits seamlessly with Media Archive -- a modular, open and scalable software platform -- allowing for the integration of third-party software components.

The companies said that early on in the conceptual system design of the project, CTV realized that it required media-asset management in order to keep track of media assets and to provide a status overview of items within production. Blue Order said it chose to work with SGL due to SGL’s understanding of broadcast media issues.
