SeaChange International Inc. and MetaTV have signed a partnership to integrate SeaChange's VOD systems with MetaTV's iTV application platform.
The partnership will enable cable operators to deploy the integrated system to explore revenue-generating applications such as interactive advertising and custom-branded virtual channels. The MetaTV Platform allows operators to choose technology components that fit their business models, giving them an automated process for designing, developing, deploying and managing custom applications that are optimized for their target environments.
One of the applications the combination can create is a "virtual channels" platform for compelling iTV experiences that blend video, text and graphics. Virtual channels can be rapidly created for a variety of genres, including instructional/educational programming, sports, entertainment and product advertising.
