Scopus offers digital content distribution for syndication

The Scopus IRD-2900 receiver platform lowers the total cost of ownership for distributed satellite networks by combining the distribution of both broadcast video and IP data over the same transport network.

Scopus Network Technologies has launched a new end-to-end solution for syndicated digital content distribution.

The Scopus solution incorporates the new IRD-2900 series of professional integrated receiver decoder (IRD) platforms, alongside various advanced encoders, multiplexers, and a network management system (NMS). The IRD-2900 receiver platform integrates, in a 1RU box, a satellite front end, an MPEG decoding system, and an IP interface capable of providing IP data up to 60Mb/s.

The comprehensive solution lowers the total cost of ownership for distributed satellite networks by effectively combining the distribution of both broadcast video and IP data over the same transport network. Broadcasters can leverage their current capabilities by selecting the optimal working point for the distribution of both data and broadcast content over satellite.
