SBE Ennes Regional Workshops in Boston and Seattle

The Society of Broadcast Engineers has scheduled a regional convention in Seattle Sept. 28-29 and the 2004 SBE National Meeting and convention in Boston Oct. 26-27. The technical programs at the two conventions are similar. Both feature an Ennes Workshop session on "Internet Based Control and Observation of Broadcast Transmitting Facilities" presented by Jay Adrick from Harris Corporation. The Seattle workshop has a session devoted to "FCC Hot Topics" presented by Kris McGowan, Senior Agent at the FCC Enforcement Bureau in Seattle. In Boston, FCC topics will also be covered at an Ennes workshop, with Dane Ericksen discussing 2 GHz TV BAS, 950 MHz Aural BAS and other FCC issues.
TV sessions at both locations include a paper by Richard Schwartz from Axcera on "Completing DTV Coverage through On-Channel and Translator Technologies" and from Thales on "Transport Stream Solutions and Advances for Broadcasters." The Seattle convention program will have a paper by Jerry Whitaker on "ATSC Activities and Initiatives."
