  • • The FCC granted a request from Intelsat North America LLC for special temporary authority (STA) to continue operating Intelsat 706 at 54.85 degrees east longitude, for a period of 30 days, commencing Oct. 6, 2009. Sirius XM Radio, Inc. received STA to operate six terrestrial repeaters for a period of 180 days at specified locations in the United States with an effective isotropic radiated power (EIRP) of up to 2,000 W. The repeaters will operate in the 2320-2345 MHz band allocated exclusively to the Satellite Digital Audio Radio Service.
