Russia's Channel One Adopts DIVArchive

Russia's Channel One has gone live on air thanks to its newly implemented DIVArchive system from Front Porch Digital. The install was part of a renovation of the broadcaster's news production workflow.

DIVArchive middleware provides Channel One with a unified CSM system, enabling content to be ingested, stored, managed, converted, and made available to newsroom, editing systems, and digital media workflow applications.

The DIVArchive system installed by the Moscow-based broadcaster comprises one Manager, for maintaining the database, managing application requests, and controlling storage resources; and eight Actors allowing users to move content between media servers and storage in a Sun StorageTek SL8500 tape library with eight T10000 tape drives. The DIVArchive has also been configured to support throughputs of up to 7,680 Mbps.

The DIVArchive system was installed by Moscow-based systems integrator Okno-TV.
