Report: Apple to Carry Fox Films on iTunes

Apple has struck a deal to carry the latest films from 20th Century Fox on its iTunes media download service, according to a story in The Financial Times.

Details, including price structure and film availability are expected to be announced early next year. The arrangement would allow consumers to “rent” by downloading, and viewing the films for a set period of time. Apple does offer both new releases and older films for downloading from Disney, which counts Apple CEO Steve Jobs as a board member and major shareholder.

Fox also offers its films for sale by download on Amazon’s Unbox service.
