Quantel hits the road to demonstrate its new NLE

Quantel is taking its new nonlinear editor on tour. The tour starts on February 18th, in Chicago, Ill. Quantel will then begin presenting its multi-day, hands-on seminar called "Break On Through." The seminar is designed to allow postproduction professionals to experience firsthand "eQ," Quantel's new NLE. eQ uses Quantel's Resolution Co-existence technology. This technology allows any SD or HD resolution to exist in its native form simultaneously with other formats in the timeline. Images are adjusted in real-time to any output, and can be played back in any format at any frame rate without rendering.

At each stop, Quantel will host an evening presentation to include product overviews, white paper presentations and special guest speakers. Post professionals will then be welcomed back during the week to try the system firsthand.

Panasonic will also feature a live demonstration of its high-definition variable frame rate camera at the event. Quantel's will also demonstrate how to edit footage for the Varicam.

The first four-day event kicks off February 18th - 21st in Chicago at The Peninsula Chicago Hotel. Moviola will host the next presentation February 24th - 28th in Los Angeles, Calif. The tour convenes March 3rd - 7th at The W Hotel in New York City. A second leg of the tour will kick off in additional cities in late April.
