Proximity, Sundance Automate News Graphics
By TVTechnology published
Proximity Corporation and Sundance Digital recently announced a graphics system that harnesses the specialties of both companies to automate the creation and recall of news graphics. Harnessing Proximity's content management software with Sundance's NewsLink 2.0 newsroom automation, the system supplies a means to handle a news graphic from its initial request to its ultimate on-air playout.
The combined Proximity/Sundance system works with most playout servers and graphics creation systems, using the MOS protocol and template-based architecture to automate the process. Users can search and browse for existing graphics using a Proximity Newsroom plugin, and drag-and-drop graphics into a playout rundown, which is captured by the Sundance NewsLink software. The combined system is compatible with Avid's iNEWS and the AP/ENPS newsroom systems.
