Pro-Bel automation chosen for Turner HD channel
By TVTechnology published
Turner Entertainment Networks has purchased and installed a Pro-Bel automation system for TNT in HD, its new high-definition channel.
The system will control TNT in HD’s ingest and on-air playout. Turner Entertainment Networks has been using Pro-Bel automation to support 18 entertainment services directed at North and South America. All but one of these services runs parallel chains of automation (if one fails, they are able to immediately switch to another).
Turner also has Pro-Bel automation technology installed in its test facility — (one parallel chain) — and in its training area — (four parallel chains) — for a total of 45 automation-controlled program paths. Azcar installed the new automation system in conjunction with the Turner Engineering team and Pro-Bel’s onsite engineer.
