Pro-Bel Aligns With SGL

Pro-Bel has formed a strategic alliance with Software Generation Ltd., a privately held archive management company in Southampton, England. The two companies teamed up following NAB2006 and Pro-Bel integrated SGL's redesigned data archive and management software FlashNet6 with Pro-Bel's Morpheus family of products.

FlashNet 6 scales from a single archive server to an infinite number of I/Os. It is designed around a clustered architecture; and can grow by plugging more servers into the cluster, as the data throughput requirements increase. The Morpheus family comprises three key products: Morpheus Automation, Morpheus Media Management and Morpheus Control and Monitoring. Morpheus Automation manages everything from simple server play-out to complex channels where schedules are continuously changing.

Pro-Bel Group CEO Graham Pitman said, "We are always eager to work with other best-of-breed suppliers in order to provide customers with solutions that work not only in theory but in practice. The power and flexibility of these technologies working together has to be seen to be believed."

Following IBC2006, SGL and Pro-Bel said they plan to announce a major European broadcaster as the first customer to install the integrated SGL FlashNet6 and Morpheus system.
