The White House has announced its intention to nominate Jonathan Adelstein, one of two Democrats on the commission, to remain at the FCC for another five-year term.
Adelstein replied in a statement that he was honored and thanked Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) for his support.
The South Dakota native joined the FCC in 2004 after working as a legislative aide to former Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle (D-S.D.) now retired from Congress.
If confirmed by the Senate, Adelstein would remain at the commission until 2013.
