Plus 8 Digital to add 20 Viper FilmStream digital cameras

Film and broadcast rental company Plus 8 Digital has purchased 20 additional Grass Valley Viper FilmStream digital cinematography cameras from Thomson, which will bring its total Viper camera inventory to more than 40 upon delivery in early 2007.

The Grass Valley Viper FilmStream camera is showing up on more feature film sets everyday. In the past year, the digital cinematography camera has been used on movies including "Miami Vice," "The Final Days of Planet Earth," "Le Poulain," "Home of the Brave," "Zodiac" and "What Love Is".

The Viper FilmStream Camera System uses three 9.2 million pixel frame transfer CCDs capturing 1920 x 1080 resolution, both in 16:9 and 2.37:1 ratios. It delivers an RGB 4:4:4 10-bit log output — uncompromised by electronic camera signal processing — to a field recorder.
