Philips premieres 100in LCD HDTV
By TVTechnology
published Electronics giant Philips has raised the bar on HD LCD displays with the announcement of a prototype 100in Ambilight HD FlatTV.
The LCD HD set, which the company premiered at IFA 2006 in Berlin Sept. 1, uses Ambilight Full Surround, the new, four-sided version of Philips’ ambient lighting technology.
The announcement of the Philips prototype comes several months after the Panasonic introduction of a 103in Panasonic TH-103PF9UK HD plasma panel, which NBC Universal will use for production of “Football Night in America.”
