PESA helps distribute the Summer Olympic Games

PESA's Tiger routing system

PESA Switching Systems installed its routers at the Olympic Games. The installation includes three mobile production trucks from host country Greece, one truck from Cinevideogroep of the Netherlands, and a number of systems in trucks from TVE Televisio Espanyola of Spain. Additional systems are also being used by two Korean broadcasters operating out of the International Broadcast Center (IBC), Korea Broadcast Systems and Munhwa Broadcast Company (MBC); and by European Broadcast Union (EBU) Sports.

Greece’s Outdoor Broadcast Solutions, based in Thessaloniki, is providing coverage of soccer matches from their Mobile Production Unit 1 equipped with a PESA Jaguar and Cougar SDI, and stereo audio routing switchers with 3500PRO-LE system control software and 20 programmable XY and multi-bus control panels.

The European Broadcast Union (EBU) Sports has employed a PESA Tiger routing system for the main pool router that is being used to distribute the feeds to the EBU client stations throughout Europe from the main stadium, and all the satellite game venues. The system is running on the 3500PLUS system controller and uses a large number of customized remote control panels that were developed specifically for the EBU.
