Pentagon Channel Hits Ustream

Folks who want to watch The Pentagon Channel have another avenue—the channel is now streaming over Ustream.tv.

A link to the Ustream channel can be found on the newly launched Defense.gov Web site. The channel streams Department of Defense news briefings, military news, interviews with top Defense officials, short stories about the work of the military, and other military lifestyle programming.

The technology provided by Ustream ensures that viewers receive the high-quality live streaming content. Ustream's chat feature allows servicemembers and their families to connect with each other while they view live Pentagon Channel programming.

"We are delighted to add Ustream to our arsenal of Social Media distribution," said Brian Natwick, general manager of the Pentagon Channel. "For the first time servicemembers from all over can connect with each other while watching the channel any day, any time, 24/7."

"We're thrilled to work together with the Pentagon and the Department of Defense to provide a quality streaming experience that allows our servicemen and women to connect with each other," said Brad Hunstable, Ustream founder and president. "Ustream's early beginnings came from our own service in the military and we are glad to enable these connections to occur."
