PC Magazine Compares HD PC Tuners

PC Magazine posted an article this week on How to Get HDTV on Your PC. The article compares the features of three Hauppauge tuners as well as Avermedia’s AverTV Bravo Hybrid tuner that uses the PCI Express bus. It also looks at the Elgato HDHomeRun Ethernet DTV tuner and includes available information on the tuner chip and the MPEG decoder chip.

The article doesn’t mention any differences in off-air reception, focusing mainly on digital cable. It does have useful information on each tuner’s capabilities and the software supplied with the tuners.
