Pathfire, a U.S.-based digital content distribution provider, and BT Broadcast, a division of British Telecom, recently announced a partnership to provide transatlantic distribution for digital video content. Dubbed BT Mediarelay, the system will use a simple drag-and-drop interface to facilitate the transfer of digital media.
The new service will allow BT Broadcast's global customers to reach the more than 1,000 Pathfire customers in the U.S., facilitating transfer of digital media for broadcasters, news providers, advertising agencies and film production companies. The venture plans to eventually permit storage of recent news reports of up to 48 hours for on-demand retrieval whenever and wherever needed.
