Panasonic ships AV-HS400A HD/SD live switcher

Panasonic has begun shipping the new AV-HS400A multiformat HD/SD live switcher, which offers the features of its AV-HS400 predecessor such as a built-in multiviewer image preview, 10-bit HD processing, an expandable HD/SD architecture with 3-D digital effects and a variety of new capabilities.

Among the HS400A’s enhancements are customizable multiviewer labeling and border functions, many new keyer functions, expanded graphics support and pan-tilt camera control.

The HS400A’s built-in multiviewer, which can output four, eight or 10 images from different sources to a single high-resolution display, now features customizable labels for each window.

New key functions include 3-D DVE key effects for dramatic transitions, flying key for dynamic titling effects, a full key for a virtual second picture-in-picture and other creative tools.

Panasonic also has introduced two additional I/O option cards — the AV-HS04M6 dual analog composite input card and the AV-HS04M7 dual HD/SD-SDI output card with downconversion — to expand the versatility of this live switcher.
