OmniBus Announces Trade-In Program

OmniBus Systems has announced an equipment trade-in offer directed at broadcasters who are looking for a cost-effective way to replace their older transmission chain gear.

The company is offering trade-in credit against its complete iTX software-based SD/HD transmission and content management system, which replaces much of the dedicated hardware needed in legacy systems.

"While many broadcasters may want to make this transition to more advanced, flexible and resilient IT-based systems such as iTX, they are often faced with limited capital budget or equipment that is not fully depreciated," said Mike Oldham, OmniBus Systems CEO. "We want to help these customers by providing a financial incentive to modernize and ‘HD-ready’ their facilities now. We expect to see a number of broadcasters at this year's NAB Show who are interested in taking advantage of this cost-saving offer."

The OmniBus package replaces video servers, MC switchers, automation systems, graphics and c.g. devices, logo inserters and still stores. According to OmniBus, broadcasters can realize a reduction of up to 50 percent in capital expenditures and also lower operating costs by replacing legacy hardware.
