OmniBus adds SD and HD browse to iTX

At NAB2007 at booth #SU5413, OmniBus Systems will demonstrate new frame-accurate, D1-resolution browse capability for SD and HD content as part of the latest version of software for its iTX platform.

The iTX's browse capability is based on iTXcode technology from IPV, a supplier of time code-enabled browse technology. The iTXcode, part of IPV's SpectreView product suite, accepts file-based HD or SD content and transcodes multiple clips to low bit rate Windows Media 9 (WM9) VC-1 format at full D1 resolution, with time code, scene detection and logo burn-in.

The iTXcode's advanced streaming engine can then efficiently distribute the results for access and viewing on a desktop for a large number of concurrent users, enabling advanced operational workflows for editing and repurposing output, without having to move and decode HD content unnecessarily.

OmniBus Systems' iTX is a next-generation software-based production and transmission platform that uses standard IT hardware and advanced software technology. The system builds on the company's broadcast industry expertise to deliver automation, ingest, editing and content management, and acts as a video server, master controller, graphics device and logo inserter.
