NMT buys multiple Chyron Duet LEX systems for SD sports

The Chyron LEX systems delivered to NMT include two-channel capability, video clip players, and built-in mixers.

In order to satisfy its Fox Sports and ESPN clients, veteran mobile production company National Mobile Television has taken delivery of 10 Chyron Duet LEX systems to deliver captivating on-screen graphics from their trucks. Both sports producers have chosen the Duet as their new platform of choice.

NMT president Jerry Gepner said it was time to upgrade the Chyron iNFiNiT graphics systems with the new-generation Duet LEX systems.

Gepner said long-time clients ESPN and Fox Sports have expressed an interest in improving their on-screen looks, which prompted NMT to purchase the new Chyron systems. He said he’ll eventually outfit roughly 50 of his trucks with the Chyron Duet LEX systems.

Introduced at NAB2002, the Chyron LEX systems delivered to NMT include two-channel capability, video clip players, and built-in mixers. Chyron has also begun training Fox and ESPN technicians in Melville, N.Y. and Los Angeles, CA. on the sophisticated CG system.

For the past two years, Fox Sports Net has also used a specialized version of Chyron’s Application Library (CAL) on a laptop computer to produce the “Fox Box” sports scores in the upper part of the screen.
