Newsroomink turns to Pinnacle Systems for production switcher, CG at new London facility

Newsroomink, a joint news venture, has purchased a Pinnacle Systems PDS 6000i production switcher and Deko2200 character generator for its new news studio in London.

Newsroomink, a joint venture between LBC (Lebanese Broadcasting Corp.) and the Al Hayat publishing group, deployed the products following the studio's official launch on June 21.

Described as a “super news center,” the new broadcast venture will allow LBC to develop its news broadcasting capabilities for the LBC International (LBCi) television channel, leveraging Al Hayat's extensive journalist base.

In turn, the new alliance offers Al Hayat a practical outlet to enter the world of television broadcasting, building upon LBC's ability to deliver high-quality programming. In bringing these two respected media groups together, Newsroomink's objective is to deliver a comprehensive flow of international news and current events programming to the Middle East.

Pinnacle's PDS 6000i production switcher has been designed specifically for mid-market live production news and local interest programming. The integral DVEs and 19 multi-page frame stores present broadcast operations like Newsroomink with the flexibility and range of tools to bring to air quality programming.

The live production solution is also supported by the addition of a Deko2200 character generator, which provides a powerful broadcast graphics tool that contributes to the newsroom's distinctive on-air look and feel.
