New UK facility uses JVC’s HD2K HD projection

The VMI High Definition and Broadcast Facility has chosen JVC Professional Europe’s HD2K HD video projectors for its new facility in UK’s Soho.

Featuring three of JVC’s HD direct drive image light amplifier (D-ILA) devices and an advanced digital video processor, clients will be able to view rushes and final edits on the DLA-HD2K.

Footage viewed on the DLA-HD2K is produced with 1920x1080 resolution that precisely matches the resolution of HD recordings. JVC said the 2000:1 contrast ratio allows for “deep rich cinema-quality blacks with smooth gradations and low noise.” Color temperature is factory-set to D65 assuring accurate color reproduction and natural colors.

Also showcased at VMI will be JVC’s 42- and 50in HD color plasma monitors, the GM-V422PCE and the GM-X50E. Both plasma models support a wide range of cinema and HDTV formats including 720, 50/60p, 1080 50/60i, 1080 24p and 1080 24pSF.
