New display promotes Atlanta performing arts center to freeway travelers
By TVTechnology published
Before the doors to the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Center in Atlanta even open, the facility will be well promoted thanks to a sophisticated outdoor display system.
Designed and manufactured by Daktronics, each side of the marquee will feature ProStar video displays, which have the capability to show live and recorded video, colorful animation and vivid graphics. The video displays will measure approximately 25ft by 40ft with full-color pixels on 23mm spacing. The display will use RGB LED technology to present bright, highly visible images. ProStar technology offers a long lifetime with minimal maintenance and low power consumption.
The marquee will be visible from both northbound and southbound views of the I-75 freeway adjacent to the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Center site, which is passed by more than 400,000 cars per day.
The Cobb Energy Performing Arts Center’s grand opening is set for Sept. 15, 2007, while the marquee is scheduled to be operational in February.
