Neutrik features feed-through versions of Ethercon series at NAB2003

New versions of Neutrik’s EtherCon Series were on display at NAB2003. In addition to the EtherCon Series’ rugged RJ-45 style connectors, the NE8FDP feedthrough receptacle in D-sized metal flange with the secure latching system, and the NE8FF feedthrough coupler were also on display. The new products will be available in third quarter 2003.


The cable end of the EtherCon Series offer offers a robust diecast shell as a carrier for pre-assembled RJ-45 plugs. Female chassis connectors are based on the current Neutrik “A & B” Series as well the “D” Series of XLR receptacles with secure latching system..

The EtherCon Series offer both male cable carriers and assembled female receptacles. The cable end offers a robust diecast shell as a carrier for pre-assembled RJ-45 plugs. Female chassis connectors are based on the current Neutrik “A & B” Series as well the “D” Series of XLR receptacles with secure latching system. Terminations are horizontal and vertical PCB or IDC, punch down. Color-coding is available for both the cable carrier and the receptacles for ease of identification.

Neutrik’s EtherCon Receptacle is unshielded. The receptacle has eight contacts, has a rated current of 1.5 A and has dielectric strength of 1000 V ac rms with a contact resistance of 500 M Ohm.

The lifetime of the EtherCon has been estimated at > 1000 mating cycles. Neutrik EtherCon products comply with Category 5 (IDC versions) shielded or unshielded and are compatible for use with 10 Base-T and 100 Base-TX systems.
