NBC Universal (NBCU) utilized the VCI Orion Business System to manage back-office functions, including sales and traffic, during the Beijing 2008 Summer Olympic Games.
Orion allowed the network to view its commercial inventory and spot placements in real-time with Inventory Explorer. This synchronized view dramatically streamlines operations through effective log control, reducing the number of make-goods needed. Orion also provided NBCU with the ability to change commercial schedules on the day of airing, seamlessly updating schedules in automation.
