NBC Universal Automates Multichannel Ops With Crispin

NBC Universal (NBCU) has selected Crispin Corp. to support the multichannel operations at the network's 30 Rockefeller Plaza and new Englewood Cliffs, N.J. cable operations center.

The facilities were designed for greater flexibility in providing live broadcast feeds of events on any of NBC's channels.

"Live broadcasts place the most demands on the equipment and operational staff needed to deliver the signal," said Alan DeVaney, president and founder of Crispin Corp. Our ability to adapt our software to a facility's specific operational policies without customizing the core architecture separates us in the industry. Our years of experience in automating live events has helped us meet NBCU's unique workflow requirements."

The NBCU New Jersey facility contains three studios with a combined floor space of 15,000 square feet. NBCU has been using Crispin automation products since 1998 for the integration of live sports, The Today Show and other programming.
