NBC brings mobile content to Alltel Axcess TV

NBC Universal (NBCU) has inked a deal with Alltel Wireless to bring the wireless service provider’s subscribers 11 channels of on-demand content, including full-length episodes of the show “Friday Night Lights.” The channels will be available through Alltel’s Axcess TV service plans.

Programming will include short-form, on-demand content from NBCU network holdings NBC News, Telemundo, mun2, Bravo, The SCI-FI Channel and USA Network, along with video from the shows “Access Hollywood” and “Late Night with Conan O’Brien,” as well as the full-length episodes of “Friday Night Lights.”

NBCU is not the first major network to provide content to Axcess TV. ABC, FOX, CSPAN and the Discovery Channel also have channels on the service. The addition of the 11 channels from NBCU means Alltel can now boast 36 channels of mobile video content.
