NAB2006: DVEO to Unveil HD Converter
By TVTechnology published
DVEO Pro Broadcast (Booth SU1205) said its new FireBridge coming to NAB2006 is the first real-time HDV-to-DVB ASI converter designed for broadcasters and other content providers. The unit converts HD 1394 output from the next-gen of HDV cameras to DVB-ASI.
When used with the JVC GY-HD100U camcorder, FireBridge also reportedly converts the camera's 1394 FireWire output from 720p/30 to 720p/60, making the output compatible with standard HD broadcast equipment.
DVEO next week also will demo its new Ncoder HD, a low latency 1080i-720p HD encoder for transporting raw HD-SDI across satellite uplinks or cable networks.
The Ncoder HD multiplexes compressed video-audio streams to produce a DVB-compliant MPEG-2 transport stream, and accommodates both PAL and NTSC formats. The encoder accepts 1080i, 1080p and 720p, and features low latency (60 milliseconds) for real-time applications such as live concerts, sports events and news coverage.
