MRC Gets $2.1 Million Equipment Order; Appoints New Defense Staff Business Director

Microwave Radio Communications has announced that Globecomm Systems has placed an order with the company valued at $2.1 million for purchase of Advent Mantis 1.9 meter and 2.4 meter Flyaway Satellite Systems. Globecomm is purchasing the equipment for an undisclosed U.S. Government agency.

MRC also announced the appointment of Bob Otten as director of business development for the U.S. Government market. He will be responsible for expanding MRC's selling channels and sales team in that portion of the market as part of a program to increase the company's share of Government business.

"Communications is the backbone of tactical and strategic operations, and we need someone who has the background in sales and in the government market to lead our efforts," said Tony Finizio, MRC president. "Bob's rich industry knowledge and broad customer contacts will strenghten our sales and marketing intitiatives."

Otten's career includes more than 20 years experience in supporing applications for tactical and war fighter applications.

MRC provides a range of equipment for security and defence purposes including body-worn video transmission equipment to portable satellite systems.
