Most small businesses don’t have disaster plan

A new national survey says that most small business do not have a disaster plan — either for their people or their essential data.

The findings are in a new study by TNS NFO, a research agency based in New York City. The researchers found that most small business owners and decision-makers are not worried about the impact a disaster can have on their business. The study noted that more than one in four businesses would experience a significant crisis in a given year.

To help educate small businesses about the importance of readiness planning, Office Depot has also compiled a free brochure entitled "Expecting the Unexpected: Disaster Preparedness Strategies for Small Business." It’s available at www.officedepot.com/getprepared.
