Meteorlogix Sells Media Division to Weather Central

Minneapolis-based Meteorlogix, which provides business to business weather services, has sold its media business for cash to Weather Central.

Meteorlogix's Media Division provides weather graphics systems and data to broadcast television and cable television operations. The transaction transfers all of Meteorlogix Media Division's customer contracts as well the company's media products including MxWeatherSpan X, MxWeatherSpan RT, MxWeatherSpan Storm Commander and Triton i7.

"The sale of the media business reflects Meteorlogix' commitment to focus its resources on markets where it can achieve strong leadership positions," said Robert Gordon, Meteorlogix CEO. "As the third player in the consolidating media market, it simply made more business sense to sell the media division and concentrate our resources on our core weather business."

"We are delighted to have these excellent products as part of our Weather Central product line, said Terry Kelly, president of Madison, Wis.-based Weather Central. "We are also very pleased that the key Meteorlogix Media Division team members are joining us. They bring with them great expertise and outstanding personal skills."
