Ciprico’s Huge Systems MediaVault 4105 and 4210 RAID storage arrays are now compatible with the KONA 2 dual-rate HD/SD capture card from AJA Video Systems.
AJA’s line of 10-bit uncompressed QuickTime capture cards is available for Final Cut Pro on Mac OS X. KONA 2 is an HD/SD video capture card for editing.
The Ciprico Huge Systems MediaVault 4105 and 4210 storage arrays are entry-level 4-Gig Fibre Channel RAID storage solutions for a variety of SD and HD applications including uncompressed video storage, digital intermediates, content creation, nonlinear editing, animation and content delivery.
The five-drive, single-channel MediaVault 4105 records and plays back up to six uncompressed SD video streams, as well as 10-bit 1080i HD content. The array delivers up to 300MB/s in RAID 0 mode, and up to 240 MB/s in RAID 3 mode. The 10-drive, dual-channel MediaVault 4210 also supports 10-bit 1080i HD and delivers up to seven uncompressed SD video streams. It is capable of performance up to 600MB/s in RAID 0 mode and sustained performance of up to 400MB/s in RAID 3 mode.
