Martin Re-Nomination Hearing Set For Next Week
By TVTechnology published
The Senate Commerce Committee plans to hold a hearing Tuesday, Sept. 12, on the renomination of FCC Chairman Kevin Martin and the nomination of John Kneuer for administrator of the National Telecommunications and Information Administration, which regulates government spectrum.
Kneuer currently oversees the NTIA as acting assistant secretary of commerce for communications and information. The NTIA is in charge of the federal subsidy program for the digital-to-analog converters aimed at keeping legacy TV sets alive after the Feb. 17, 2009 analog sunset.
If approved later by the committee, both nominations would go to the full Senate for its vote.
