Leitch's Nexio Heads to the Olympics

Leitch will provide its Nexio NewsNet system to Rede Bandeirantes de Televisao in Brazil for the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens. After the games are finished, the system will return to Brazil for the station's network news operation.

The Nexio NewsNet system includes two Nexio transmission servers with eight channels and three NewsFlash FX editing systems all connected to a shared storage system. Also included are eight DPS-575 digital processing synchronizers; a 64x64S4 serial digital Integrator router with a host of remote control panels as well as two SuiteView multi-source display processors; a reference signal generator; and 6800+ modular interface conversion and distribution amplifier modules.

The complete Leitch system that will form Bandeirantes de Televisao's operation in Brazil will include five Nexio shared storage transmission servers with 20 channels; five NewsFlash FX editing systems; NewsFlash Preditor low-resolution browse and edit solution, with a total of 30 client stations; Ingest Control Manager; Rundown Manager, Leitch's MOS-enabled gateway and play to air system and InstantOnline.

The system will feature 1.4TB of storage. The news facility will also feature an additional 45 DPS-575 Digital Processing Synchronizers; 190 additional 6800+ series modules, including SDI and analog video DAs, conversion modules and ICE6800+ modules for remote control/monitoring; and seven VelocityQ NLEs.
