Leitch Buys AgileVision

Leitch Technology Corp. has acquired the assets of AgileVision LLC, a joint venture of Mercury Computer Systems Inc. and Sarnoff Corp.

AgileVision was created in 1999 to integrate Mercury's computing platform with Sarnoff's software for use in DTV. AgileVision works in software-based manipulation of compressed video and data, and released the AGV-1000, nicknamed "DTV-in-a-Box" because of its small footprint and software-driven capabilities, in 2001. The system enables manipulation of MPEG-2 and HDTV signals within the compressed domain.

When integrated into Leitch, the company will be able to use Leitch's infrastructure and place in the industry to enhance its products' place in the market. AgileVision will continue to operate out of New Jersey.
