KTVU adds HD traffic map, graphics to morning newscast

KTVU, the Cox Television-owned San Francisco Bay Area station that began HD local newscasts last month, is using Sigalert.com’s Traffic TV to produce HD traffic reports.

The station’s Channel 2 News relies on Traffic TV’s HD animated freeway maps for use on its morning broadcasts. Along with HD graphics, KTVU also has automated access to real-time traffic incident and speed information data 24/7. The traffic information, which is automatically downloaded from Sigalert.com’s data center into Traffic TV, eases KTVU's traffic report preparation.

Traffic TV provides the Fox affiliate with a map of the Bay Area to show detailed traffic reports anywhere in the region, animated freeways that clearly show current traffic conditions and customizable graphics.

KTVU has used Sigalert.com products on its Web and wireless sites for several years.
