KOMO Production Services (KPS) recently acquired an iQ multimedia, multiresolution editing and effects platform from Quantel. Based in Seattle with its parent unit, KOMO Television, KPS provides digital production services.
The iQ is designed to function in a multistandard, multiformat online environment. One feature is its ability to work simultaneously with any picture resolution, without waiting for image conversion or disk partitioning. Whether working in film, HD, SD or manipulating computer format images, all the formats can be instantly combined on the timeline or in composites due to the system's unique "resolution co-existence" technology.
