KENW-TV centralizes digital TV operations with Harris networking system
By TVTechnology published
KENW-TV, the public television, radio and distance-learning operation of Eastern New Mexico University, has installed a Harris NetVX high-speed, networking platform and ReCon remote control and facility management system at its newly upgraded broadcast facility.
The new system replaces six existing analog transport systems and unifies four channels of distance learning with analog and digital television and radio services. The management and control component ensures reliability via transmitter site diagnostics checks and complete network remote control.
The Harris solution was installed to provide the station with a bi-directional audio, video and data communications network to source and return regional feeds between its main facility in Portales and 15 transmission sites located throughout the region. All of these sites use Harris Diamond transmitters.
