Ion Media Networks Joins MSTV

Ion Media Networks, which owns and operates the nation’s largest TV station group, announced this week that it has joined the Association for Maximum Service Television (MSTV), a nonprofit trade association of local broadcast TV stations that promotes and lobbies for television technology issues.

Ion says it joined MSTV because it shared the association’s vision for protecting, improving and advancing over-the-air television as well as promoting the development of a standard for over-the-air mobile TV. Ion Media Networks has taken a proactive position on over-the-air mobile TV and company President Brandon Burgess heads up the Open Mobile Video Coalition, a group of commercial and public stations promoting a mobile TV standard.

“Ion and MSTV are aligned on many important opportunities that lie ahead for our industry, including over-the-air digital and high-definition broadcasting,” said Burgess. “MSTV does a great job representing its members on broadcast technology innovation and we look forward to working closely with MSTV and its membership.”
