India’s NewsX prepares for HD English news channel
By TVTechnology published
Indian news channel NewsX is using SeaChange International’s Broadcast MediaLibrary/MediaClient (BML/MCL) as its play-to-air platform for English-launguage news.
NewsX, the first news operation in India to near completion of preparations for HD broadcasting, is relying on the BML/MCL platform to support ongoing SD operations. HD preparations include studios designed by Janson Design Group of New York, graphics by London’s Red Bee Media, and sets from Shaun Moore of New York.
“SeaChange has given us the flexibility to go on-air in SD while simultaneously laying the foundation to activate HD transmission as soon as we are ready,” said Vynsley Fernandes, COO, INX News.
The BML/MCL architecture is in use at more than 200 broadcasters worldwide, including China Central Television, Mediaset, Globosat and more than 40 PBS affiliates.
