Indianapolis’ WTHR implements digital automation

WTHR-TV, an Indianapolis-based NBC affiliate station owned by the Dispatch Broadcast Group, recently completed a $4 million building expansion for WTHR and the SkyTrak Weather Network. The station’s latest upgrade will include MicroFirst’s Digital Automation System.

The new digital automation system provides a streamlined workflow for ingest, metadata management and transmission of multichannel content. It controls 18 server channels as well as Thomson’s Trinix routing switcher and three Maestro master control switchers.
